MY STORY

My name is Christian, and I am the co-owner and head trainer here at Contento Canines. I am proudly certified through the Will Atherton Academy, which gave me a solid basic understanding of canine behaviour. But that's only one piece of the puzzle, as I continue to hone in and better my craft as well as my understanding of canine behaviour and psychology, attending seminars as well as purchasing and completing various training programs (and will continue to do so, the learning never stops!) as I strive to become the best I can possibly be with the goal of helping as many people as possible, whilst enjoying my own dogs/future dogs on a whole different level. I am incredibly passionate, personable and driven which leads to us delivering our core goal in helping owners really achieve that ‘man’s best friend relationship’ with their dogs. I particularly love working with and teaching people and owners how to better understand our canine companions and what they need to be truly happy and content. There is absolutely nothing better than watching owners achieve things with their dogs that they never thought they could, and just seeing the joy shared between both owners and dogs when they accomplish things together.

Now that we’ve delved into the professional side of things, let me explain my love and passion for dogs and animals on a more personal level. Since I can remember I’ve always had a love for all living animals and creatures, but there has always been a special place in my heart for the best animal in the world, dogs. This love began with my first best friend, Sammy the Rough Collie, who had the most gentle and loving soul you could ever imagine. Sammy was with me from when I was a young child right up until I was a teenager. He was always there when I needed him the most, especially through some difficult periods in my life, and there has always been a spot missing since the sad day he passed away. Our Cockers, Louie and Charlie are the biggest reason why I decided to go down this dog training journey. Unfortunately, and unknowingly, we did all the wrong things we possibly could’ve done as dog owners, but having gone through it and seen all the incredible changes. A real passion was ignited, and the want to help owners and dogs achieve similar changes became apparent, which has opened the door to what I believe I was born to do.
